Bly died in 1922 at the age of 57, but her legacy lives on as a pioneering female journalist and adventurer.

80日間で世界を一周する冒険小説”Around the World in 80 Days”がBBCでドラマ化されていたので、一気に観ました。ロンドンを出発し、無事にロンドンに80日で戻ることができるのか、毎回ハラハラドキドキしながら楽しむことができました。
自分を信じること、そして諦めないことの大切さについて改めて考えるきっかけになる素敵なストーリーでした。

最後にアメリカ繋がりで、最近観た映画をご紹介したいと思います。
シアーシャ・ローナンさんが演じる主人公エイリシュがアイルランドからアメリカに渡って新しい人生を切り開く様子を描いている映画です。
故郷を離れて新しい土地に移住する時の不安、また新しい土地が自分の居場所にしていくエイリシュがとても魅力的な作品です。
